About the Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame
The Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame was founded in 1982 including the counties Sullivan, Greene, Delaware, and Ulster. Schoharie County was included the following year.
Their goal was to preserve the rich heritage of the region's artistry of quilting. Sharing their skills, teaching, quilt shows and enjoying a common interest.
Today we strive to keep our quilters updated and educated on the ever growing industry with new techniques, tools, and availability of new fabrics, threads, and notions while still maintaining the heritage.
Biannually the member guilds can submit sponsored individuals for the prestigious honor of being an Inductee - judged at representing their quilt art form at the highest level. Their plaque with bio and small sample of work can be seen at the Catskill Center in Arkville, NY.
